“This wedding is so cool!”. That’s what Laura and I kept saying to each other all day. Megan, Pier, and all of their friends and families were simply themselves all day – there was no sense of artifice about any of it. Just people celebrating and having fun. Authentic is such an overused word, but it applies perfectly to this wedding.
A tearful registry office ceremony was followed by a bus trip back to Megan’s family home where the tennis court had been set up full of games and music. As a side note, we need a tennis court in our next house! A torrential downpour couldn’t ruin anybody’s fun, or the bake off competition, and it soon brightened up so the ice cream van could be enjoyed in its full glory!
The amazing stretch marquee (from https://www.poshfrocksandwellies.co.uk) was gloriously decorated (and I wish I could remember the name of the company that did it!!), the food was amazing, and the speeches were heart wrenching. Just when we thought there were no more awesome surprises, a chippy van turned up to serve the the evening meal!
Some weddings you just don’t want to leave, and this was absolutely one of them. Thanks so much for having us, Megan & Pier!
